PESHAWAR: A delegation of sports journalists to attend Digital Training Workshop jointly organized by Pakistan Sports Writers Federation and Sports Writers Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the collaboration of Azerbaijan Sports Journalist Association reached Baku, Azerbaijan on Sunday morning.
The delegation was warmly received by Vice President of Azerbaijan Sports Journalists Association Nargis Muhammadzada and Natig Nasiro at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In the delegation, there are youths from different cities, including the annexed districts, headed by Shahid Afridi, General Secretary of Sports Writers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The 11 members delegation including a female journalist, is going to attend the Sports Media Digital Workshop in order to improve their overall professional capabilities as sports journalists and hopefully these young upcoming sports journalists would significantly able to play their role for the promotion of sports journalism besides strengthen a brotherly sports ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that last year the Young Sports Reporters Training Program and International Peace Conference was organized by Sports Writers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the aegis of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation.
During the conference, a delegation of the Azerbaijan Sports Journalists Association also attended wherein later on both signed a MoU to continue an exchange program regarding sports journalists visits from both sides besides extending brotherly ties of sports between the two countries Pakistan and Azerbaijan and should utilize each other expertize in various Games.
However, in the first phase, journalists from both countries participated in Online training in large numbers. In the second phase, the young sports journalists of Pakistan visited Azerbaijan, while in the third phase, the sports journalists of Azerbaijan will visit Pakistan, which will be held in Karachi later this year.
Talking to Media, Shahid Khan Afridi, who led the delegation, said that it is a good opportunity for him and other young sports journalists to learn about Digital Media, use the latest tools related to it and to exchange each other’s expertise in the field of sports journalism. He said such a visit would certainly help the upcoming young journalists who intend to be in the field of sports journalism and should play their role for the promotion of sports in Pakistan. He also thanked Secretary General Asian Sports Journalist Association Mr. Amjid Aziz Malik for making such a visit a reality by giving a chance to the young journalist to learn good things for future progress.
