Pakistani players won a total of 5 titles in the Australian Junior Squash Championship.
According to Dawn News, Hazifa Shahid and Mahnoor Ali wearing green shirts won the Under-13 category, while Yahya Khan was the winner in the Under-15 category.
In the same way, Mehwish Ali and Ibrahim Zeib made Pakistan and fellow players proud by winning under-17.
These thrilling events for young Pakistani players were held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Center in Albert Park, Victoria.
Pakistan’s victories in squash are not new, on 23 July 2023, Hamza Khan defeated Egypt’s Muhammad Zakaria to win the World Junior Squash Championship and became the country’s first champion since 1986.
During the tournament held in Melbourne, Australia, Hamza Khan defeated Mohammad Zakaria 1-3.
According to PTV Sports, the last time Pakistani player Amir Atlas made it to the final was in 2008 and the last winner from Pakistan was John Sher Khan who won the title in 1986.
