PESHAWAR: The first edition of the Hayatabad Super League witnessed the conclusion of two more thrilling matches at the Hayatabad Cricket Stadium, where Khyber Green Azmari and ICA Markhor emerged victorious with dominant performances.
In the first match, Khyber Green Azmari defeated Buner Zalmi by 13 runs. Batting first, Khyber Green Azmari set a target of 167/9 in 20 overs. Asad Afridi played a brilliant knock of 68 runs, while Rehan Afridi contributed 27 and Asad Ullah added 19 runs. For Buner Zalmi, A. Aziz and Shakeel bowled well, taking three wickets each, conceding 28 and 39 runs, respectively.
Chasing the target, Buner Zalmi fell short, managing only 156/8 in their 20 overs. Hussain scored 36, Shakeel made 28, and Syed Bilal contributed 34 runs, but they couldn’t take their team across the line. Khyber Green Azmari’s bowling attack, led by Zaman Afridi (2/23) and Asad Afridi (2/29), restricted the opposition effectively. For his outstanding all-round performance, Asad Afridi was named the Man of the Match.
In the second match, ICA Markhor secured a convincing 9-wicket victory over Shinwari Stars. Batting first, Shinwari Stars were bowled out for 144 in 19.5 overs. Rehman top-scored with 35, Saqib Jamil made 25, and Javed added 20 runs. ICA Markhor’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Ahmed Hussain claiming 3/36, while Zeeshan Tahir (2/20) and Salman (2/33) provided crucial breakthroughs.
Chasing the target, ICA Markhor dominated with the bat, reaching 148/1 in just 15.4 overs. Hassan played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 70, supported by Abbas Ali (38*) and Shoaib (30). With his outstanding batting display, Hassan was named the Man of the Match.
