UNDP and FPCCI jointly held a conference on green jobs for youth and women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A stakeholder conference was organized for the youth and women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on green jobs in three major sectors namely eco-tourism, textile industry and renewable energy. In which a large number of business class and youth participated.
On this occasion, UNDP Consultant Ahsan Hameed Durrani gave a detailed presentation on these three areas.
“The green job does not mean that we are neglecting the traditional fields, but the purpose of the green job is to create new opportunities for the youth in these three fields, especially the environmental impact,” he said. It is necessary to review. Ahsan Hameed Durrani also reviewed the big difference in the ratio of men and women in different fields, he said that we cannot progress without the participation of women in every sphere of life.
Other participants also called on the government to subsidize the solar energy sector and make it accessible to as many people as possible. At the same time, there was a demand to reduce taxes on solar energy. The participants also suggested training the youth in the field of tourism and keeping the tourist spots free from pollution and plastics.
On the occasion, the women said that there was an urgent need to harness the potential of women in the province, especially in the field of handicrafts to encourage women and give them modern technological skills to access the direct market. Besides, other women also need to be brought forward in the fields of handicrafts etc.
Speaking on the occasion, FPCCI Coordinator Sartaj Ahmad Khan said that there are immense opportunities for the development of tourism sector in the province which can be exploited to create opportunities for the youth by teaching them skills. He suggested that women and youth be taught advanced digital skills so that they can access the market directly.
