PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan has said that the provincial government is taking concrete steps under Sports for All Vision to facilitate easy access to the grounds and sports for special people Can irons Describing sports activities as one of the top priorities of his government, he said that the provincial government was using all its resources to provide sports facilities and conducive environment to the youth as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He expressed these views on the occasion of inauguration of buses for special players by the Sports and Tourism Department in Peshawar on Thursday.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the buses with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Special Player Mesmat Shiraz who cut the ribbon and inaugurated the buses. Secretary Tourism and Sports Muhammad Abid Majeed, Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfandyar Khattak and other officials were also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan said that an adaptive sports strategy has been launched for the disabled sportspersons of the province under which these buses have been developed for these special sportspersons to facilitate their access to sports activities. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Tourism and Sports Muhammad Abid Majeed said that earlier these special players used to face severe difficulties in traveling by public buses and transport for which they would need the help of another person.
However, these buses have been designed for people who can easily ride in them with the help of the machine. Speaking on the occasion, DG Sports Asfandyar Khattak said that one bus was provided by the tourism department for special persons while the other bus was prepared by the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for these special persons. With the help of these buses, special players will now be able to easily participate in sports competitions held from one city to another city and district.
